libpam-foreground software package provides transitional dummy package which can be safely removed, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install libpam-foreground
libpam-foreground is installed in your system.
Make ensure the libpam-foreground package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep libpam-foreground *
You will get with libpam-foreground package name, version, architecture and description in a table
